Wednesday Disc Golf at Rutgers. The last Disc Golf of 2008.

Headed to Rutgers Disc Golf course for some rounds with Karl. It was a cold and windy day and we get some snow as well. We got in 7 rounds before calling it a year.

Tom and his son Ryan joined us for a couple of rounds. Lots of snow falkes in this photo. Looks like Cubby took a snowball to the face.

Tuesday Disc Golf at Manalapan and Rutgers and three Aces

Headed to Manalapan Rec. Center Disc Golf Course late in the day for some rounds. I got my 342nd Ace, a nice skip Ace.

Cubby's 342nd Ace Photo.

Cubby's 342nd Ace Video.

After the park closed I headed up to Rutgers Disc Golf Course for some Night Disc Golf. I got in lots of rounds. At some point I was tired and got in the car to go home and something told me to play another round. I got out of the car and started another round. I decided to play one disc versus another.

I decided on the Champion Boss versus the Champion Orc. I started on hole 8. On Hole 9's tee I threw the Boss and I heard the slightest sound of metal like the disc just barely grazed the basket. I figured it would be close to the hole for an easy duece. I then played the Orc and it also made a very faint sound of the disc just barely glancing the basket, cool another easy duece.

As I approached the basket I found both discs were resting near the back of the basket. Two nearly silent aces, no chains at all and both shots made so little sound at contact with the basket that I would never have thought that I had one let alone two discs in the basket. I also had lights on each disc but could not see them from the tee.

Pretty amazing back to back Aces in the same minute with almost no sound on either shot. It gets stranger, all night while I was playing, I was thinging about the loss of my Mom and Mother-in-Law this year and asked them to show me a sign while I was playing. Could this be the sign? Even the time 9:58 has coincedental meaning. From the 5 to the 9 is 59 my year of birth, from the 5 to the 8 is 58 the year of my wifes birth.

And for all the aces I have had in the past, for me to be fooled by 2 back to back shots not knowing that either shot was in the basket only to find both discs were in the basket is a rare coincidence for sure.

Thanks Mom and Mom for the help with those Aces and for looking out for those you left behind. We all miss and love you both very much. I guess the Ace at Manalapan was a sign form Grandma. She also passed away this year. Three wonderful women, that positively touched do many lives.

Monday Disc Golf at Rutgers and some $,$$$

Big John checks out my new Nike Shoes.

Headed to Rutgers Disc Golf Course for some Disc Golf with Big John. John's right elbow is injured and he can't play right handed so he enrolled in the Cubby School of throwing left handed when you are a right handed player.

A closer look at my new Nike footwear.

We played 4 rounds, throwing every shot left handed. Big John just missed a lefty Ace. My rounds were: -3, +1, -5, and -3. My left shoulder was sore after 72 holes but it was great for me to throw that many lefty shots. I usually only throw lefty when the shot dictates. After today I have more confidence to throw lefty more often than I usually throw during a round.

Big John did well throwing lefty for the first time and to be able to throw that way for 4 rounds was impressive! Hopefully we will see John back out on the course now that he found an alternate way to play.

Here I am with the Pirarella and Murray families. They had a great time out on the course. I hope to throw some rounds with them real soon.

Chris joined us for a couple of rounds.

Sadly, we stumbled upon one of the course Hawks. Not sure why this bird died.

Before I left the course I got to chat with Tom. He just started playing Disc Golf in September. I have seen him on the course before but not yet had the pleasure of throwing some rounds with him. I can tell he is really into Disc Golf so I know you will be seeing Tom on the Blog in the future.

When I got home I was excited to see a check waiting for me for my first Voice Acting Paid Job. It was a 4 figure check! Sweet. I am now changing my status from Amatuer to Professional Voice Actor.

Sunday Morning Disc Golf at Bunker Hill

Headed to Rob's private Bunker Hill Disc Golf Course for some rounds of Disc Golf before heading to work. It was a warm but very windy day. Conditions were tough to score well. We got in three rounds. I won the first round (53 to 57), Rob won the second round (57 to 64), and I won the third round (56 to 60). I now hold the current course records at Bunker Hill. Best score 48 and worst score 64.

Tuesday Disc Golf at Bunker Hill and Rutgers and in the studio for Disc Golf Monthly

Headed to Rob's private Bunker Hill Disc Golf to play a round with Rob. I got in some practice before Rob arrived at the course.

Here we are before the start of out Bunker Hill Tag Challenge round. We took a video of the match.

Video of our Tag Challenge match.

After playing at Rob's course, I headed to Pennsylvania for studio work on an upcoming episode of Disc Golf Monthly. Here I am with my co-host Becky S.

A funny photo in the studio.

After the taping Becky, Kevin, and I went out for dinner. afterwards I was still in the mood for more Disc Golf so I headed to Rutgers.

Here I am at Rutgers. The course had a couple of inches of snow that had turned to ice on the top. It made for some very slick footing and some great skip shots. I got my 341st Ace, a nice skip shot with a ROC. My fist Skip Ace with a ROC! Like I said, great skipping conditions.

Hear more of Cubby in his latest Voice Acting production

Cubby at the Microphone.

In the link below you can hear Cubby as Hanzo in Butajin Epsiode 1.

http://media.putfile.com/Butajin---Episode-1

Here is the producer's description of the production: Set in a feudal Japan not unlike our own, save for the early advent of 'modern' technology, this is the story of Eden, a young woman searching against Buta Otoko (Pig Man), the mysterious, and powerful swordsman wearing a Pig mask who killed her parents.

I did not live long in this production. Maybe I would have survived using some overstable pastic as weapons against the Pig Man.

No Disc Golf today for Cubby as he takes on the role of Santa and has a Ho Ho Ho of a good time!

CLick on the photo to see a larger picture.

On a cold wet Saturday night, Cubby took on the role of Santa at the Jenkinson's Night Club in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. It was a great time and Santa felt like a real celebrity. Santa was in high demand for photos and time on the dance floor. He even joined the band, Life Speed on stage for a Christmas Song. It's good to be Santa!

Cubby in Meet Max. And I'm not talking Max from DeBunker Hill Disc Golf Course.

Cubby as the voice of Max in Meet Max.

Click on this video to hear Cubby as Max in a Halo 3 Machinima Video production called Meet Max. The young man that put this production together is only 13 years old.

Besides Disc Golf, I enjoy doing voice over stuff.

Wednesday Disc Golf at Rutgers and in the studio for work on a future Disc Golf Monthly production

Headed up to Rutgers just before darkness for some rounds of Disc Golf before heading to PA for studio work on a future Disc Golf Monthly Episode. I got my 339th and 340th Aces. The course was wet and muddy from the recent rain.

I had the pleasure of co-hosting an upcoming episode of Disc Golf Monthly with with fellow Disc Golfer Becky Sonnheim. Becky's home course is at Sedgley Woods DGC in Philadelphia. Becky competes in the Women's Open Professional Division. We arrived at the studio at 8PM and finished taping after 10PM. Our producer Kevin, did a great job of working through a number of technical difficulties to get through tonight's production.

Wednesday Disc Golf at Bunker Hill and in the studio for Disc Golf Monthly Episode 56

Rob holds the Bunker Hill Tag challenge pole.

Headed to Rob's private Bunker Hill Disc Golf Course on a mild rainy day to get in some rounds of Disc Golf. It was raining hard so I could not get the customary photo taken at one of the baskets, instead we took the photo on Rob's front porch after we finished playing the second round. Can you tell that we are soaking wet? I did not play well in the rain although my putting was on the money. Rob took the first round with a 57 to my 58. I took the second round with a 56 to Rob's 61. Half of the second round was played in the dark.

Matt and Cubby in the studio for DGM56.

After playing at Bunker Hill I headed to Levittown, PA for studio work on Episode 56 of the Disc Golf Monthly TV Show due for release in January.

When I got home I was happy to see that my recent disc order from discgolfvalues.com had arrived. I got 4 Innova (x-out) Pro Destroyers ($6.95) each) and 2 Innova (x-out) Champion Firebirds ($8.95 each).

discgolfvalues.com has some great prices. Almost as good as a government bailout program. Tell Mark and Sharon that Cubby sent you.

Tuesday Disc Golf at Bunker Hill and Rutgers

Computer Screen Shot of Cubby's Video Clips.

Started the day out in the back yard for some putting practice. Daisy (Sheltie) and Heather (Yorkie) provided distraction as well as the wind. My putting practice was broadcast live on my justin.tv/discgolfer channel.

If you go to the link below you can see video clips of todays back yard putting: http://justin.tv.discgolfer/all

Late in the afternoon I headed to Rob's private Bunker Hill Disc Golf Course for a tag round with Rob. We tied at 1 under and under Rob's new house rules ties now require a playoff for tags. In the first BH Tag playoff Cubby won. Nice shooting Rob!

After playing at Rob's I headed to Rutgers for some Night Disc Golf. Chris and I played 3 rounds. I shot -12, -11, -12. Chris shot -2, -5, -2. I hit the basket on a skip drive on hole 12 and crashed the chains on a skip drive on hole 1. Chris left and I stayed to play more Disc Golf. On a putter only round, I got my 337th and 338th Aces. It's sweet to throw straight now and not have to be a magician with an overstable disc.

Saturday Disc Golf at Rutgers and Hickory Run for the 2008 Pre-Hibernation Doubles Tournament

Headed to Rutgers Disc Golf Course early Saturday morning for a round before heading to Karl's house. After the round I arrived at Karl's house at 4:30AM. We left for PA to compete in the 2008 Pre-Hibernation Disc Golf Doubles Tournament at Hickory Run Park.

Cubby and Karl before playing a practice round.

Everyone gathers around for the players meeting before the event. There were 42 teams registered to play, 26 teams in the Amatuer Division.

Ross, Cubby, Rick, and Karl.

Here is the group I played with during round 1 of the event. Rick has an awsome jump putt!

Ben is one of three people that got an Ace during the first round. Here he is with his Ace Disc. It was his first Ace, a long Skip Ace.

Cubby and Karl led the Amatuer Divison by one sroke after the first round.

Karl, Cubby, Victor, and Ryan.

Here is the group I played with during round 2 of the event.

Ryan pictured with his Ace Disc. He got his first Ace during round 1.

After the second round Cubby and Karl ended up tied for first place in the Amatuer Divsion.

Karl, Cubby, Carner, and Curtis.

We played a sudden death playoff. During the first hole of the playoff, Cubby called a falling putt violation on the other team and during the do over they missed the putt for a three. Cubby made the putt for his team for the 3. Cubby and Karl prevailed in the playoff. I felt bad that the playoff ended that way, I was pulling for the other team to make the do over putt. The other team displayed great sportsmanship and class over the ruling.

Here is an excerpt from the Professional Disc Golf Association as it pertains to a falling putt:

803.04 Stance, Subsequent to Teeing Off
A. When the disc is released, a player must: (1) Have at least one supporting point that is in contact with the playing surface on the line of play and within 30 centimeters directly behind the marker disc (except as specified in 803.04 E); and, (2) have no supporting point contact with the marker disc or any object closer to the hole than the rear edge of the marker disc; and, (3) have all of his or her supporting points in-bounds.

B. Stepping past the marker disc is permitted after the disc is released, except when putting within 10 meters.

C. Any throw from within 10 meters or less, as measured from the rear of the marker disc to the base of the hole, is considered a putt. A follow-through after a putt that causes the thrower to make any supporting point contact closer to the hole than the rear edge of the marker disc constitutes a falling putt and is considered a stance violation . The player must demonstrate full control of balance before advancing toward the hole.

Brian stopped by to say hello and thanked me for all of my YOUTUBE vidoes. He asked me to autograph a Champion Boss. It was great chatting with Brian and an honor to sign his disc. I look forward to throwing some rounds with Brian in the future.

It was a real treat to chat with so many Disc Golfers today about my work on Disc Golf Monthly, my YOUTUBE videos, and my Blog. It is really inspirational to get so much positive feedback from so many nice people.

I also want to Thank Bob Z. and Mike S. as well as the rest of the Bearclaws Disc Golf Club for putting on a great event.
