Thursday Disc Golf in Pennsylvania and New Jersey

Headed to Philadelphia with Big John for some rounds of Disc Golf at the Sedgley Woods Disc Golf Course. Lots of people were on the course for the weekly Tag Challenge round and Thursday Doubles.

After playing 3 and 1/2 rounds in Philly we headed to Rutgers Disc Golf Course for some Night Disc Golf. We took a break and had dinner at the Campus Cafeteria. I think we got in six rounds before leaving the course after midnight.

Monday Night Disc Golf at Rutgers

Headed up to Rutgers for some Disc Golf on a windy and rainy night. The temp was a very comfy 66 degrees. Not bad for late November in New Jersey. I played from 9PM until 1AM. I love playing in the wind. I had a close chance encounter with a skunk but fortuantely I did not get sprayed.

Saturday Disc Golf at Rutgers

Headed out to Rutgers in the early afternoon to meet Big John and throw some rounds on a picture perfect fall day. Lots of color on the course as yesterdays winds dropped lots of leaves on the course. I got my 258th Ace on Hole 5. It was a nice Skip shot off of a tree. This was only my second Ace on Hole 5 (My first was my 18th Ace). I got todays Ace with my new Star Destroyer. I have to get more Destroyers, I love the way that disc flies and skips.

Here are some pictures taken on the course today.

Check this picture out. The sun is reflecting off of the disc and it looks like Big John just threw a fireball towards the basket.

Wednesday and Thursday Disc Golf at Rutgers

Headed up to Rutgers for some late Night Disc Golf on Wednesday. It was a very foggy night. I got my 256th (Lefty Skip) Ace on Wednesday and 257th (Righty Skip) Ace on (Thanksgiving Day) Thursday. The Skip Ace string is still alive. That's 20 Skip Aces in a row and 27 of my last 29.

(Not a Disc Golf post) Welcome to the family Daisy!

She was born July 22, 2007

I got Daisy today. She is a Sheltie. A very adorable dog. I tried to name her Hyzer but no one liked that name.

I actually gave up Disc Golfing today to pick her out and bring her home to surprise the family. Now that's love.

Saturday at Rutgers and Marshall Street

Headed up to Rutgers to get in a couple of rounds of Disc Golf before meeting Don and Big John for our road trip to Marshall Street to play in the NEFA Doubles Tournament on the Pyramids Course. After our loss of Lucky on Friday, she was on my mind when I got my 255th Ace. A Lucky shot for sure. I played with one disc so I could belt out two rounds.

We left Big John's house at 3:15 AM and stopped at the Post Road Diner in CT. We also stopped by my old house in Plainfield, CT. The house was built in 1908.

Cubby lived here 1984 to 1988.

We arrived at Marshall Street and headed out to play a couple of holes on the Pyramids course before checking out the Pro Shop.

Here are some pictures in the Pro Shop. A great selection! Something for everyone.

Hey, are you the guy on YOUTUBE? Chatting about YOUTUBE videos at Dinner after the event. It was great meeting these guys and spending some time talking about our mutual passion for Disc Golf. Looking forward to throwing some rounds with you guys on a return trip. My condolences to the wife that had to watch my videos for an hour.

Don Ace'd Hole 5 during the 2006 MSDGC.

Here is Don striking a pose at the Tee Sign on Hole 5 at Pyramids. Don's Ace is immortalized on the Tee Sign.

Congrats to Don and Karl for beating Cubby and Big John in the Century Division (Team Age 100 or over).

After Dinner there was an auction with all kinds of good stuff up for bid. I got a KC PRo Cheetah and Don got a KC Pro Aviar. Lots of Money raised for Charity.

Thanks to all of the good folks at Marshall Street and all of the friendly NEFA players. It was a treat to finally make it up to Mass. to play Disc Golf.

And now from the unusual department: A "Black Ace" is when someone Tees off and gets an Ace on another Hole's basket. During the first round of the tournament, Karl's drive on Hole 18 went out of bounds and long and Ace'd a DB-5 target that was on display for sale with four other Disc Golf Targets outside of the Pro Shop. What do you call that?

No Ace for Cubby at Pyramids but I came mighty close on the 380 foot Hole 8.

Monday Disc Golf at Manalapan and Rutgers

Got a call from Miguel while I was at work saying he was free for some Disc Golf. We headed up to Manalapan recreation Center Disc Golf Course. for a round at lunch time. Miguel got me two Champion Firebirds from Marshall Street. That was sweet!!! I headed back to work. After work I stopped at Sports Authority and picked my up a new piar of Nike Hiking Shoes and a pair of Goretex shoes by Columbia. I am wearing the new Nike Shoes in the next picture.

Here I am at Rutgers for some Night Disc Golf.

Jim, Cubby, and John.

I had the pleasure of throwing a couple of rounds with Jim and John. They are working on their post graduate degrees at Rutgers. They have followed the blog and YOUTUBE videos and easily recognized me on the course.....well thats not too hard to do, as I am usually the only one out on the course at night :) I really enjoyed throwing the rounds with them and look forward to our next rounds togehter. Try as I did to Ace all I could manage was a skip shot on Hole 14 that carried through the chains. My putting was on and Jim and John played well! Only a matter of time before they both Ace.

Cubby for President in 2008

Today I annouce my candidacy for the Presidency of the United States of America. My platform is More Disc Golf! So if you want more Disc Golf vote for me. I won't be on any state ballots so the only way to vote for me is to write my name in on election day. A vote for Cubby is a vote for more Disc Golf! More Disc Golf is a promise I can deliver.

This post was edited to take the politics out of the politics. My constituency reminded me to keep my focus on Disc Golf. I agree.
