Wednesday at Bunker Hill and Tyler

Headed up to Rob's Bunker Hill Disc Golf Course to play some rounds with Rob and Miguel. We played four rounds on a hot day. Rob added two more holes to the course so now the course has 12 holes. Miguel almost had an Ace deflecting off the chains. I came close a couple of times on Hole 10, once hitting the front of the basket. Rob almost got the first 3 on hole 6 basket and he almost got the first 2 on Hole 5 basket. Thanks to Rob and Miguel for some fun Disc Golf.

After Playing at Rob's Course I headed over to Pennsylvania to play my Summer league round at Tyler. I got to throw my round with Alan and Stephen. I just missed an Ace on Hole 22 hitting the number plate on the drive.

Tuesday at Manalapan

After a very long 5 days at work, I finally got out before the sun went down so I headed up to Manalapan Recreation Center Disc Golf Course to throw some rounds. It felt so good to be out on the course again. Wednesday Disc Golf will be at Rob's Bunker Hill Course and hopefully Tyler afterwards to play my Summer League round.

I wanted to thank Miguel and his lovely wife for coming down to the boardwalk and saying hello on a busy Sunday. The pic above will give you an idea of the crowd down here today.

Memorial Day Weekend is underway!

Although I did not play Disc Golf today, this story is Disc Golf related so I am posting it in the blog.

As many of my friends know, maybe not so many of my blog friends, I am the Manager for two Ice Cream / Candy stores on the Boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. Today is the big kick-off for the Summer Season at the Jersey Shore and with the crowds also comes the media. We were featured on the New York affiliate of ABC TV and also on 880 WCBS Radio in New York City. I had the pleasure of getting interviewed by a very charming reporter, Marla Diamond. She is really a positive and energetic reporter and I enjoyed the time she epent in the store. After the interview I just happened to mention Disc Golf (Go figure!) and she seemed very interested in doing a piece in the future on Disc Golf. So some Wednesday I may get share my passion for Disc Golf with the New York and New Jersey metro listening audience. Hopefully Marla will be checking out the blog to see what Disc Golf is all about. Thanks Marla for a great interview!

Green Acres and Rutgers

The day started out with a Turkey sighting.

Miguel, Cubby, Tom, Tim, and Mike.

I got to play a really cool private Disc Golf Course today. Tim Eland's private Green Acres Disc Golf Course. Lots of home made targets including 3 hanging baskets. We played three rounds and I had a blast. Thanks to Tim, Miguel, Mike, and Tom for a fun day at Green Acres!

Here are some pics from the course:

I was going to play my Summer League round at Tyler after we finished playing Green Acres but I opted to meet Big John at Rutgers where we got in 6 rounds. It was a another fun day of Disc Golf!

Wednesday at Manalapan and Bunker Hill rained out at Tyler

Headed to Manalapan Recreation Center Disc Golf Course with my daughter Jennifer. We got in 27 holes on a very windy day.

After Manalapan we headed to Rob's private 10 hole Bunker Hill Disc Golf Course for 30 holes of Disc Golf.

Cubby's drive ends up in the Tree House on Hole 3.

Cubby putting from the Tree House on Hole 3, just missed the putt off the rim of the basket. Cubby is circled in red and the putter is circled in yellow.

Rob approaches on Hole 3.

We finished just as a storm was rolling in and we stopped by the local pizza place fir some slices. Jennifer and I drove through the storm to Tyler State Park Disc Golf Course for week 5 of the Summer Disc Golf League only to find that this week's round was cancelled due to the storm.

It was a fun day of Disc Golf! Thanks to Rob for the hospitality at Bunker Hill and congrats on your upcoming graduation from Rutgers next Saturday.

Disc Golf at the White House

I'd love to throw a round of Disc Golf with the President. With all of the negativity out on the political front I want to salute the President by featuring him in the blog with Cubby. It would be sweet to see a Disc Golf Course set up on the lawn at the White House. I'd love to get the first Ace there :) Keep up the good work Mr. President. The silent majority is still with you.

Wednesday in NJ and PA

Melanie, Ken, Cubby, Andrew, Don, Rob, and Miguel.

Headed up to Rob's private 10 hole Bunker Hill Disc Golf Course to throw some rounds with Rob, Don, Ken, and Miguel. It was great to see Miguel playing again during his recovery from surgery on his left shoulder. He hit a nice long putt on the Cubby Hole Target.

Here we are again with Erick joining us for some more rounds.

Congrats to Don for breaking the course record for the 10 hole layout besting my previous mark by two strokes. Don walked away with some of Cubby's money today. Nice job Don!

After playing at Bunker Hill I headed to Tyler for the Summer League round. Here I am with Dave, Greg, and JohnB.

Sunset at Tyler on a nice day.

It was a great day of Disc Golf!

Tuesday Putting Practice at home

I usually spend my free time on the Disc Golf Course. Today I decided to do a little putting at home after work. Just enough putting to keep me from driving to the course. Looking forward to a full day of Disc Golf on Wednesday. I will be heading to Bunker Hill and Tyler. Depending on how early I get up in the morning, Rutgers and Manalapan are also possibilities.

Monday at Rutgers with Scot Wittman PDGA 3837

Headed up to Rutgers after work for some Disc Golf. I had the pleasure of throwing four rounds with Scot Wittman. Scot is holding his Legacy Member PDGA Tag in the photo. Scot is one of the best forehand throwers in the sport. He is also a gifted artist and the Art Department Chair at Rutgers Preparatory School founded in 1766.

Here is a link to Scot's website:

One of my Ace Discs used to be one of Scot's playing Discs. Here it is pictured below.

Here is the back of the disc and Scot's signature way of marking his discs.

During the four rounds we played there were many near Aces but nothing stuck in the chains.

Scot told me that he has shown his students the blog in the classroom. Let me take this time to say Hi to all of Scot's students and thank Scot for some fun and competitive rounds. Final results: 2 rounds for Cubby and 2 rounds for Scot.

02:03:04 05/06/07

After a 15 hour day at work I headed up to Rutgers Disc Golf Course so I could start my round at 02:03:04 on 05/06/07. The things I do to to generate content for the blog :) I got my 197th Ace at 3:34:34.

Here is a picture of one of the course skunks.

No snakes this time :)

Here is a picture of a car sideways in a traffic circle that was blocked off preventing traffic from advancing. I sat there for 30 minutes on the way back home.

Time for a little sleep before heading back to work this morning.

Wednesday in Pennsylvania

Cubby, Big John and Jennifer (Cubby's oldest daughter) headed to Sedgley Woods Disc Golf Course for five rounds of Disc Golf. We saw 3 different snakes on the course. Here is a picture of the second one.

After 3 rounds Cubby and Big John decided to play two more rounds to see who would pay for lunch at two famous Philadelphia Cheese Steak establishments. We dubbed the two rounds the Philadelphia Cheese Steak Open. Cubby got his 195th Ace during the first round and his 196th Ace during the second round. It was great to have my daughter Jennifer see me hit a couple of Aces today. Cubby won both rounds of the Cheese Steak Open so Big John picked up the tab for lunch at Pat's Cheese Steak and Gino's CheeseSteak. We decided through a taste test that Gino's was the winner.
