Norma Vales Cubbedge 1939-2008

At 8:18 PM, 1/26/2008 My loving Mother passed away at home surronded by her family. Mom was diagnosed in December with Lung Cancer that spread to her Liver and Brain. She fought hard till the very end and was a positive role model in life and death. She was a sweet woman. Mom I will miss you my love and I am thankful that you are no longer in pain and have found eternal peace.

Update (31 Jan 2008): The viewing was held on Tuesday 30 January 2008. Thanks to my Disc Golf friends Rob and Don for coming down to pay their respects.

Update (5 Feb 2008): Mom was laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery on 4 February 2008 at 10 AM. Mom is in section 60 Lot 123.

Update (23 Mar 2008): I went to Arlington National Cemetary on Easter Sunday to visit Mom's grave and see the recently installed headstone.

A note I left for Mom

Cubby, I'm sorry to hear about your mother. I also had someone very close to me pass away lately. When I saw this on your blog I was bummed out because today is my birthday (1-26-08).
P.S.
I got in some pretty good rounds of disc golf today, and also a few night holes.

Sorry to hear about your loss, Cubby. I just recently had a great professor die (really young) from cancer and I was just a former student and it was hard for me. I can't imagine having to watch a parent go through cancer. Best Wishes. Jason

Hey Sis, Glad you got to check out the Blog. I hope you all had a good flight home. Call Dad when you get a chance as he has not heard from you since you flew out. Give my Daniella a kiss for me and say hi to Billy.

Love, Cub

Hi Cub. I tried calling dad when I got back but there was no answer. I called Mark and he said he would call dad to tell him I got back home safely. I will be giving you all a call on Friday. Trying to recoup and catch up after a long trip and time zone change.

LOVE YA CUB~

Linda

P.S.

I just love your blog page and will check out your Children Of The Gods sometime this week.
