Cubby's Firebird is heading to Iraq

The soldier I am pictured with is from Forked River, NJ. He and his family were at the Boardwalk today in Point Pleasant Beach and they stopped in the Sweet Shop for some sweets. I don't want to name the soldier for security reasons and I removed his name from the photo. He will be heading back to Iraq on Saturday for 6 1/2 months. He will be taking my Innova Pro Firebird with him and hopefully taking some pictures of him and the Firebird in Iraq. If he e-mails me some photos, I will post them on the blog. I am looking foward to seeing him and the Firebird safely back after his tour is over in Iraq.

I know I speak for many people saluting him for his service to our nation and I wish him and his family safety and happiness in all their future endeavors. He and all of our service members we be in our prayers.

In an emergency, that Firebird might come in handy on the battlefield.

Wednesday Disc Golf at Rutgers and Bunker Hill

Headed up to Rutgers Disc Golf Course for some Disc Golf with Miguel. I got in a round before Miguel arrived.

After Miguel got to the course, we played four rounds. Cubby won the first three and we tied the fourth round. After the fourth round we stopped for lunch and then headed to Rob's private Bunker Hill Disc Golf Course.

Here is a picture of one of the Hawk'sabove the Tee on Hole 15 that hangs out on the Rutgers Disc Golf Course.

Cubby and Miguel got in some practice holes before Rob returned home.

Tuesday Disc Golf at Bunker Hill and a new course record

Headed to Rob's private Bunker Hill Disc Golf Course on a windy day for a couple of rounds of Disc Golf. I shot a 2 under the first round and I set a new course record with 6 under the second round. I had a great second round going to 5 under with five holes to go and then I got two bogeys taking me to 3 under, fortunately I got birdies on the last 3 holes to best the old record held by Don T.

Cubby finds his lost putter.

As you may recall I lost my putter on November 16th on this hole. Today I found it under the leaves. You can see in the picture the yellow circle area is where Rob and I focused our search for the lost putter and today I was able to finally uncover it the location identified by the arrow in the picture. The target in the picture is the Defender Target. It is an original Cubby creation. Rob painted it black.

I am very happy with the changes to my game :), the November slump is definately over.

Saturday Night Disc Golf at Rutgers

Headed up to Rutgers on Saturday after work for some rounds of Night Disc Golf with Karl. We got in 6 rounds. I scored -9, -9, -10, -15, -14, -6. I was throwing lots fo mid range discs and throwing them well. Those that play Disc Golf with me at Rutgers know I like using overstable drivers for every shot but putting. A recent correction in my release and follow thru has me now throwing mid range discs straight and accurate and loving it! Looks like my Skip Aces will not happen as often with this new throwing style.
