Sunday Morning Disc Golf at Green Acres

Cubby, Tim, Vinny, and Miguel

After work I got home and slept for an hour and a half then I got up to go to Tim's private Green Acres Disc Golf Course for a couple of rounds of Disc Golf. We are pictured at a home made Disc Golf target Tim made for the course. Miguel came with his Brother-In-Law Vinny. It was a fun 2 rounds of Disc Golf with friends. After Disc Golf, I went home for 2 more hours of sleep and then back to work :) I am now counting down to 2:30AM closing time, then back to work at 8:30AM on Monday. It's a good thing I don't sleep much or I would not have time for Disc Golf.

Saturday (Night Disc Golf) Morning Disc Golf at Rutgers and a Lefty Skip Ace

Headed up to Rutgers after work for some Night Disc Golf. I got my 306th Ace, a nice Lefty Skip Ace on Hole 18 with an Innova Star Destroyer.

Thursday Disc Golf at Rutgers and 305

Headed up to Rutgers after work arriving at the course at 2:30 AM. Got my 305th Ace on Hole 8 with an Innova Star Destroyer :) Got home at 7:30 and I hit the shower and went right back to work to open. It's going to be a long day again.

Monday Night Disc Golf at Rutgers

Cubby, Tom, Karl, and Harry

I posted on the CDGW Yahoo forum that I would be playing Disc Golf after work. I got a call from Karl letting me know that he was game for some rounds as well. Karl played lefty as he injured his right arm at a recent Disc Golf event. This was only his third day throwing lefty and he really was coming along nicely on his backhand drives. We are pictured with Harry and Tom before heading out to play.

Cubby, Chris, and Karl

Chris L. was checking his e-mail and saw that I would be playing so he joined us on the course.

Smile you are on the blog!

Another course local.

Karl headed home after a bunch of rounds and Chris and I played some more rounds until @ 1AM.

After DG I headed to Karl's house and purchased some new and used plastic :) Here is a list of the new stuff I got.

1 Star Monster
1 Star Aero
1 Star Firebird
2 Champion Firebirds
2 Star Wraiths
4 Star Destroyers
1 Star Xcalibur

Happiness is more plastic, especially some much needed overstable discs.

BTW, Congrats to Karl for his second place finish in the Grand Master division at the AM Worlds Doubles in Texas in April, only 3 shots back.

I got some feedback from some other players on the course that some Disc Golfers from Georgia were on the course the other day looking for Cubby. Sorry I was not out on the course to meet them and throw some rounds with them. I hope they enjoyed their rounds at Rutgers.

I had lots of Ace runs and hit lots of metal on my drives but I still have not hit an Ace while playing with Chris. Maybe next time.

Saturday (Night Disc Golf) Morning Disc Golf at Rutgers

Miguel contacted me on Friday and said he was game to meet up at Rutgers for some really late night Disc Golf. I told Miguel to get some sleep and that I would call him when I got out of work. Fortunatel Chris L. read the message board to see that I had posted that we would be out on the course so he joined us on the course. We started at 3:30AM. Chris played 4 rounds and Miguel and I played another 3 rounds. It was great Night Disc Golf fun and we even played during the daylight hours. Looking forward to playing more Night Disc Golf with Miguel and Chris.

Thursday (Night Disc Golf) Morning Disc Golf at Rutgers

Headed up to Rutgers Disc Golf after work arriving at the course at 1:30 AM on Thursday. Played until 5:30 AM. It was another fun time of playing Night Disc Golf. Thought I would post some night time photos of a couple of holes. I'll continue to do this until I get all 18 holes posted with night views from basket to tee. Although Rutgers is a short course, the terrain varries on each hole and a combination of trees, blind tee shots and out of bounds makes it a fun challenge, especially at night.

It rained Wednesday night so the grass was wet, so I put on my goretex socks to keep my feet dry. This was my first time wearing goretex socks. They were comfortable and kept my feet dry.

HOLE 1. A night view (enhanced) from basket to tee. Basket is not visible from tee area due to it's location behind a large transformer and low canopy on trees requires a low shot that can result in going out of bounds 15 feet beyond the basket on an aggressive drive.

HOLE 18. A night view (enhanced) from basket to tee. Basket is not visible from tee area due to basket being located just behind a big tree. Out of bounds is 4 feet behind the basket. You have to get this one close to see the basket but trying to get too close on your drive can easily put you out of bounds just beyond the basket.

Wednesday (Night Disc Golf) Morning Disc Golf at Rutgers

I started work at 8:30 Am on Tuesday and finished at 1:30 AM on Wednesday. After 17 hours of work most people would head straight home for some much needed sleep, not Cubby. I headed up to Rutgers for some Disc Golf. I arrived at the course at 2:30 AM and played until 6:30 AM. I got my 303rd (righty) and 304th (lefty skip) Aces. Two more Aces eluded me off the rim of the basket on holes 7 (lefty) and 14 (righty). Headed home for some sleep before going back to work today.

Happy Birthday to my oldest daughter Jennifer turning 26 today.

Saturday Disc Golf at Rutgers

I had to go to Edison to pick up some items for work on Saturday morning. Since Rutgers was only 5 miles away I headed to the course for some Disc Golf. I played a round with Ethan and Rob. They both came close to hitting an Ace and I played well with my new putter -10 under par. Missed some putts but I was happy with the percentage of putts that I made with the new putter. Sorry Big John, looks like I am back on track in the putting department.

Today was the Ladies Only Golf Outing (LOGO). I talked with the event organizers and took some pictures of the LOGO group between rounds. It was great to see BOB, Scot, and Jeff again. The ladies looked like they were having a great time on the course. A shout out to Hope and Kit.

Cubby in the studio for Disc Golf Monthly

I headed up to Pennsylvania in the morning on Friday to do some studio work for an upcoming edition of Disc Golf Monthly before going to work. I had the pleasure of co-hosting with Matt Lacourte. Matt has been Disc Golfing since 1982 and has been a top player for many years. His best finish at the PDGA Worlds was 12th place in the Open divison. I have thrown rounds with Matt before and he is a blast to throw with and he is very knowledgable about all aspects of the sport. Matt has designed many Disc Golf courses and has been a leader in promting the sport. Matt has 128 Aces, an impressive total when you consider Matt spends most of his time on long courses. Maybe Matt and I can have an Ace challenge that we can video to see who can hit one first.

Thursday Disc Golf at Bunker Hill and Cubby retires his favorite Putter

Headed up to Rob's private Bunker Hill Disc Golf Course for some rounds of Disc Golf. I got some video of two rounds we played and I will post them at a later date. Rob had a near Ace on Hole 2 chaining out. Cubby got his 302nd Ace on Hole 3.

Cubby's favorite Putter is retired due to a hole in the flight plate.

Stopped by Manalapan Recreation Center Disc Golf Course for some more Disc Golf before heading back home.

Friday Disc Golf at Rutgers (300 +1)

Took my Brother-In-Law Bob up to the Jersey Shore Medical Center for an outpatient medical procedure. After he was all checked in I headed up to Rutgers for some morning rounds of Disc Golf, I got my 300th and 301st Aces. After DG I headed back to the hospital to hang out until his procedure was complete. He was released after Dinner and then we headed back to his house for some pizza.

Monday Night / Tuesday Morning Disc Golf at Rutgers

Headed up to Rutgers late on Monday Night for some rounds of Disc Golf. Earlier in the day I had a Cardiac Stress Test so I had some radioactive agent technetium Tc-99m tetrofosmin in me. I got my 297th Ace, so I guess you could call that my first radioactive Ace.

As I was taking the Ace Photo, Chris pulled into the parking lot and we played three rounds leaving the course at 1:30 AM Tuesday morning. Chris played well and I was putting lights out. It was a great night for Disc Golf. Night time is the best time for Disc Golf!
